You asked the right person. I bought at least 8 machines for friends and myself already.
I like that so much. It takes me 10 minutes to have a fresh juice including clean up. In addition to that, I make frozen juice for my friends in the hot summer. Everyone compliments that.
I cannot see any blender which has 7 years warranty. I know that is expensive, but it worthies.

Thank you for your input, Cyn! I’m reading with interest… can’t have peanut butter, but maybe I can make things like hazelnut and almond butter… those, hubby can have. I already make my own flour with the grainmill and that’s why I’m having second thoughts on this. But still on the list….

I’ve had a Vita-Mix for two years, and it has more than paid for itself. I make peanut butter in it, as well as my own flours. It is not a juicer in the traditional sense, but rather creates juices with lots of pulp (you control how much). The book that comes with it is comprehensive and helpful. You can even make soup in it. It’s one powerful machine.

LOL, Ken. Yeah, I had to replace the razor blade once, but that was it. That thing was a workhorse!

I’ll check out Costco, Phisch, thanks! Haven’t decided though. I’m thinking a powerful-enough blender plus a juicer may be more like it. I have a grain mill so I might not need the extra stuff that the V-M has.

Is there a Costco near you? Occassionally, the one by us has demos. A friend of mine bought hers at a county fair maybe 8 years ago now. She’d done her research before buying and she was very happy with it once she had it.

You might also want to compare the cost of getting a good stand mixer that has a juicing attachment. Back when my friend bought it, the Vita Mix was pretty costly.

I can’t believe your Oster blender lasted 17 years. None of our appliances work that long – especially the vacuum cleaner.
