Well, we are home. Surgery lasted about an hour and fifteen minutes. We had an almost-catastrophe as the anesthesiologist forgot to write down “eggs” in the food allergy section. Three nurses later and right before he went in for anesthesia, a nurse finally hears me (yay, she was listening!) and exclaims, “Oh, he’s allergic to eggs!” — like I hadn’t already told the other 2 nurses AND the dr. So she runs to the other nurse to tell her, and they come back and tell me it’s VERY important that they know that because the anesthesia has egg components. YAH, I knew that. THAT’S WHY I talked to the dr. in the first place. Sigh…. good thing Someone up there is looking out for us.

So anyway, he got the safe kind of anesthesia, but was out for longer than they anticipated (a side effect of the safe kind), so we didn’t get home till 4 hours after the surgery. But he’s okay now, WORKING (ugh!), and will be off work (the actual going-to-work thing, that is) for at least a week.

THANK YOU for all your prayers.
