Election Day! On Pins and Needles
I’m sitting here anticipating the results. Praying, hoping, worrying a bit, yes, reading a bit, hugging my kids close… voted yesterday, was in line for 1 1/2 hours, not bad at all — I had taken my 17-yo with me so we had much to chat about while in line. And just for a touch of the shallow, I really think the touch screens are sooo cool. In the small town we lived in in PA, we pushed buttons and pulled this giant lever to register our votes and reset the buttons. That was cool in its own way.
How was YOUR voting experience? What are your thoughts? Care to share?

I had to wait in line for an hour… and I usually wait five minutes top.
Pins and needles here too.
We had no wait. I walked to the polling place with all the children – they covered themselves with McCain Palin stickers (covered up with coats when we went in the polling station) – voted and walked back home with the kids feeling they were campaigning with all the stickers. We have the touch screens and the kids doublechecked my answers to make sure all was ok before I pressed the final red button. We prayed our final day of the Rosary Novena – and I continue to hope and pray. We are about to sit in front of the tv, have chickfila and watch the results.
On pins and needles here Stef!!!
We don’t have TV so we are trying to keep track on the internet.
We are off the cemetery to pray for our All Souls’ novena. Then we’ll come back and wait and pray.
Try to stay calm!
Molly
Ok – this makes me really sick (not that I need much help right now!) – in Ohio the White Catholic Vote was 52% for McCain, 47% for Obama yuk – 47% of Catholics voting for Obama. The other thing that made me sick – the county of South Bend, Indiana has voted overwhelmingly for Obama. What happened to all the pro-life Catholics?
We voted absentee about a month ago. We are also on pins and needles as we await election results (thank you Fox News)! We have been fasting and praying. It is now 1:30 am, and I am not certain how much longer I can keep my eyes open. Regardless of who wins, I know that I will cry tomorrow morning when I find out the results.
We’re back! Oh Marilyn, you said it. My heart is breaking over the Catholics — it’s almost like “pro-life Catholic” is an oxymoron these days. What has happened to us?
Just finished our Rosary and the last day of the Novena. Now we watch…
Chick-fil-A, Marilyn? I hope you’re able to eat at least some of it:)
Carole, should I pray that you can keep your eyes open
?
Maryan, I’m so happy so many people have turned out for this election, but at the same time I’m biting my nails.
Molly, calm? What’s that?
Trying!!
OK – I am pregnant, sick and tearful anyway. I am off to bed, leaving my optimistic children watching the results and coloring in their electoral maps. I wrote this – http://enjoythejourney-marilyn.blogspot.com/2008/11/sad-sad-night.html
I am hoping that the result will change tomorrow morning – but the vote still speaks volumes – that Americans are able to vote for a man that is unprecedented in his support for the destruction of human life.
