Pandesal, or Pan de Sal, a Filipino bread, literally translated “bread of salt”. This is my whole-wheat version, hand-formed by my 14-yo. The rolls are dipped in bread crumbs before baking. I recently wrote the recipe for a Filipino publication, so as soon as they publish it (fingers and toes crossed) I’ll post a link here.

but I don’t know how to make the brown pwder or crunch what do you call about the spinkle on top of the pandesal? is that a flour you make it brown first or just sprinkle the flour on top!

My husband tries to make pandesal. We have tried many recipes and I am glad to see a Whole Wheat recipe. My traditional Kansas Whole Wheat rolls have been compared to Pandesal at times. Thanks for the recipe.
